From the Frontlines

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

This is the first of a regular series of hopefully relevant observations/ questions for those working on the frontline.

We would welcome any suggestions from our members of what you would like included next month. We have come up with a collective insight on the following questions from the executive committee.

This is the first of a regular series of hopefully relevant observations/ questions for those working on the frontline.

We would welcome any suggestions from our members of what you would like included next month. We have come up with a collective insight on the following questions from the executive committee:

Did December – early January seem quieter than usual? If so, you are not alone. This has been the view from all on the executive committee.

Are you separating COVID and non COVID at the front door? There are different approaches from the executive committee. Where separation is not happening, there is generally greater ability of cubicles, for ‘high risk’ children to be quickly placed in, High risk includes those with COVID, as well as those who would be at increased risk if exposed to COVID (eg immunocompromised children)

What PPE is being used on the front line? All from the executive reported that FFP3 masks are available to all staff, but use is generally only mandated for AGPs or known COVID cases. Some places also reporting FFP3 masks being required for staff returning from isolation at day 8.
